Chiara Valle, Professional Ballet Dancer

Chiara Valle

Company Member, City Ballet of San Diego

My journey in ballet has been one of resilience, passion, and transformation. From training at American Ballet Theatre's prestigious JKO School to performing at The Kennedy Center, every step has deepened my understanding of what ballet can offer—not just as an art form, but as a pathway to personal growth.

As a cancer survivor, I've learned firsthand that our greatest performances often happen off stage, in the moments when we choose to show up despite challenges. This perspective infuses my teaching, where I celebrate every student's courage to begin, continue, or return to ballet.

Today, as a company member with City Ballet of San Diego, I bring current professional technique to every lesson while maintaining a warm, encouraging environment where students of all ages and abilities can thrive.

Beyond the Studio: Giving Back

My experience with Ewing Sarcoma inspired the creation of Wings for Ewing Sarcoma, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting others facing this rare cancer. This journey has deepened my understanding of resilience and the healing power of movement.

Ballet became my sanctuary during treatment, and now I'm passionate about sharing how dance can be a source of strength, joy, and healing for students at any stage of life or health.
